I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Growing up as a christian, this was probably one of the most cliche bible verses that I had heard throughout church and in Youth groups. I’ve never really thought into this verse until this past year.
Psalm 139:13-14 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
I think one thing most people struggle with is not feeling worthy or good enough. I know that for me, I have always been worried about not being smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough. It’s always hard to not compare yourself to other people and think “why can’t I be them” or “I wish I could look like them.”
That’s when you think about Psalm 139:13-14
God took the time to create each and every one of us. We are his unique design. He thought of us before we were ever even born. It is so crazy to me to think that I am worth that much to someone that they would carefully think about me and how I would be made. Why should I feel unworthy or insecure when I was made by someone so perfect and righteous?
There is something so special and unique about every single person on this earth.
From God’s perspective, we have so much value. No one else’s opinion of us matter. We don’t need to worry about the world’s views on how we should look or how we should act. People are getting so far from the word of god and they are trying to be like these people on TV or in magazines and it is unrealistic. Looking at that will give you insecurities whereas if you remember who created you and your worth and value, you will never feel unworthy or insecure again.
Everyone is going to have their days where they just are not happy with who they are and just feel down on their selves, I have those days all the time and the only thing you can do in those moments is pray and have God remind you of who created you and why you were created.
